# Destroy

The destroy command removes things Vela created. It undoes the [generators](/generate) — forms, resources, schemas and scaffolds — and it removes a deployed environment from its server.

### Syntax

```
$ vela destroy <type> [name]
```

The type can be one of the following:

- [`form`](/destroy/form) - Destroy a generated form
- [`schema`](/destroy/schema) - Destroy a generated Zod schema
- [`resource`](/destroy/resource) - Destroy a generated resource
- [`scaffold`](/destroy/scaffold) - Destroy a generated scaffold
- [`deployment`](/destroy/deployment) - Remove a deployed environment from its server

### Options

Every subcommand takes `-y` or `--yes` to skip the confirmation prompt; `deployment` also needs `--confirm <app-name>` for production or a purge. `form` and `scaffold` also take `--route`, which must match the `--route` used when generating.

### Round-tripping the generators

Generally, it's a no-op to call `vela generate` and then `vela destroy` on the same resource, with the exception that newly installed components or dependencies won't be removed, as they may be required by other resources.
